Welcome to my blog

Welcome to the first ever posting in the Bluebird Bookkeeping Blog. 

I want to use my blog to keep a record of the ups (hopefully lots) and downs (hopefully very few) of life in the Bluebird office.  And I also want to share with you any bits of useful information that I come across, plus tips and hints to help you pick your way through the minefield of your business finances.

I launched Bluebird Bookkeeping in May this year and, after an unspeakable number of years working for corporate employers, self-employment has been a bit of a culture shock!  All of a sudden I've had to learn how to market my business, where to find prospective clients, and how to sell my services!! But it's been an exciting time and over the past few months I've met some fantastic people in the business networking groups, and learnt an immense amount from them.  And the longer it goes on, the more exciting it gets!!!

I share the Bluebird office with Freddie, the office dog.  He isn't very good at making the tea and, you'll be relieved to know, he doesn't get involved in 'doing the books'.  But he does a fine job of sleeping on the office floor, loves to give a warm welcome to visitors, and can be guaranteed to remind me when it's time to pack up for the night!  Freddie may share his perspective on office life with you from time to time!
